David Palm

Biography:

David Palm, 1993 born in Dresden, initially completed training as a construction mechanic in the area of thin sheet metal construction and got to know the metal medium in all its facets. He approached art self-taught, especially painting, and combined these with stainless steel in various techniques. The polished surfaces of the stainless steel plates, on which the works are created, give the colors a direct contrast. The reflections of the viewer and the surroundings make the works appear even more lively and incorporate them formally.

The artist about his work:

The combination of metal with acrylic paints is the focus of my work. The works slowly build up through different layers of paint and appropriate techniques. The polished metal is partially exposed and therefore enclosed. The appeal lies in the processing of this particularly smooth surface and the inclusion of its appearance. Architecture and faces are the main component of the works, which for me represent different journeys and impressions of cities and people, that awaken memories and evoke new dreams.
