Diana Schwan-Beck

Biography:

Diana Schwan-Beck – DSB became 1968 in Magdeburg, Born in Germany, went the artist known as DSB, on a complex journey, that combined her passion for creativity and discovery. With a diverse background, which includes two different training courses – one in Cooking and Merchant Marine and the other in Civil Engineering and Technical Drawing – she has shaped a unique artistic narrative. She currently lives in the peaceful surroundings of Schwanebeck near Berlin in Brandenburg. Her artistic development was profoundly influenced by her childhood experiences, in which she spent a lot of time in nature. Your explorations in forests, fields, Meadows and rivers during her youth fueled her curiosity and led to experiments with different materials.
During her school years, the sparks of her imaginative thinking were ignited by the tutelage of a sculptor and stonemason. These influences, along with her growing fascination with drawing and composition, formed the foundation for Diana's artistic journey.
Her artistic development began primarily as an autodidact and ran parallel to inspiring encounters with well-known artists and their teachings. This diverse educational structure included insightful excursions into sculpture with Lutz Commalein, Painting with Andreas Bauschke, Action painting with Günther Reil and the subtleties of painting with Isabell Zacher Finet. The kaleidoscope of her training also included engagements with Felix Eckardt's paintings, Wolfgang Sternkopf's insights into the interaction between marketing and art, Corinna Braunwood's art of carving, Claudia Kassner's finesse in painting, Larissa Kikol's artistic strategies at the Weißensee School of Art and explorations in open art at the Materialschlacht Open Art Academy in Berlin. In addition, her research into clay sculptures under the guidance of Katrin Wegenmann at the Berlin Weissensee Open School of Art complemented her artistic depth.

“Central to DSB’s artistic philosophy is deep-rooted faith, that art is a channel for transformative magic. Since 2009 She nurtures her creative endeavors in her own art studio, embedded in a wonderful art garden. This natural sanctuary is the backdrop for her artistic dialogues with memories, experiences and the world around them. Each of her works embodies layers of emotions, interwoven with acrylic and mixed media, and creates complex narratives, that bridge the gap between creator and viewer. Her art often moves in abstract space, a canvas for reflections on life, which through a symphony of layers, Textures and figurative suggestions are conveyed.
A defining characteristic of DSB’s artistic journey is her innovative approach to color design, who gives her works a magnetic liveliness.
