Statement:
His paintings refer to a fantasy universe with narratives inspired by traditions, folklore and legends from Portugal and other cultures for which he has more or less affection. Daily life and more mundane matters also interfere in his artistic process. As a rule, he organizes painting into series and collections that are interconnected, with works belonging to more than one series.
He seeks a fresh, ontemporary and museum expression with acrylics on canvas or mixed media on paper in formats that range from large to quite small to the point of calling them “miniatures”.
