Katja Lumpe

Biography:

Katja Lumpe is a professional painter specializing in abstract painting. Originally from Germany, it was in 2014 when she arrived in France, in the Gulf of St Tropez, where her inspirations and expressions came to life in his unique and recognizable style. Influenced by the colors, contrasts and light of the south of France, she transmits her emotions through her abstract art to the delight of amateurs and collectors.

Katja Lumpe is an artist at heart. Her works being described as “characters”, they subtly evoke an atmosphere of strength, lightness and harmony. An inspiration from nature and the universe in all its splendid forms, its undulating reliefs, its luminous and intense colors, while fully identifying with its creative visions through the expression of a free spirit. Beyond the depth of her works and their symbolic significance, her spirit of
independence is undoubtedly one of her most obvious character traits.
Her works are thus the reflection of this pure freedom claimed and a life overflowing with wealth.
The art studies that Katja Lumpe was spontaneously led to follow did not shape or format her. Above all, they allowed her to develop skills and perfect multiple creative techniques. In order to bring together all this knowledge, she completed 2 years of artistic baccalaureate and naturally then she joined the University of Interior Architecture in Mainz in Germany for 4 years, obtaining her Bachelor of Art. Being an artist “is something that stays with you all your life”.

Katja constantly seeks to evolve, to familiarize herself with new media and to refine her creations using materials such as gold, silver, coral powder, patinas and much more. His desire to create has always been present.
Today, the artist participates in numerous exhibitions dedicated to contemporary art.
She has won numerous awards, including the 1st Prize of the City of Saint
Tropez

The Artist About Her Work:

I’m an artist specializing in abstract painting.
My inspirations and expressions came to life when I came to the south of France.
For my paintings I use oils, acrylic, pigments, patinas, resins, sand, sometimes even concrete or even coral powder.
I often finish with gold leaf.
I apply the materials in several steps, flat, on the ground, with different parts of the body.
I am very inspired by the colours and smells of nature. This is what guides me in my creative work and which gives life to my paintings.
Before my arrival in France, my works were rather figurative. I started working with abstraction about 7 years ago.
As an artist, I like to experiment and research. I start from an empty canvas with pure freedom, without following academic rules.
However, my work is constructed. I follow a common thread; I implement a mastered technique. I am very perfectionist. I check every detail in order to achieve harmony…’
